“Their lovely lounge was readied while the book clubbers had their supper and coffee. The illustration for the book’s cover became the focal point of the after-supper discussion which included the historical context of the late 19th century when women were carving out professional lives for themselves despite much opposition. 

Most of the guests had read the book so the discussion was rich in its detail. The sales have been encouraging and I’ve been booked for their History Club meeting in the new year. All proceeds are for charity.
